I hope this isn't an accurate leak of the police report:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/crime/prisoner-in-van-sa...

It says he injured himself: severed his own spine and crushed his own larynx.

Throwing himself around in the van......
Hopefully the rioters dont see this. I am sure it will lead to even more destruction.

Sighs, no shit......
I did say, EVEN more......
Is that all you try and do? Is nitpick wording? But then you get it wrong?
This would just be more fuel for the fire.

What rioter would believe this?
They would hear this and say, F THE PO PO.

Sounds like an inmate trying to get an early release.

The thing that always bothers me about these things is the "protesters" and "rioters" never actually want justice or the truth. Regardless of what that is. They always want revenge.

And they always show the family saying "He was a good boy, he'd never do that!" But, like, what is the family going to say? They always say that.

Personally, I wish everyone would just wait for the facts to come out. If the cops beat him, they deserve to be charged. If he hurt himself, then he hurt himself.

I could realistically see either case.

Quote:
Jason Downs, one of the attorneys for the Gray family, said the family had not been told of the prisoner’s comments to investigators.

“We disagree with any implication that Freddie Gray severed his own spinal cord,” Downs said.

Like, how do they know? What if he did?

Reminds me of a joke regarding the coup in Chile in '73 "Today Salvadore Allende committed suicide by shooting himself in the back 87 times pausing only twice to reload".

I think that a lot of people feel that the "facts" never do "come out" when there isn't basically a videotape. Or that when they do, somehow the guilty party is never really brought to justice (that's a flawed viewpoint obviously, but not completely baseless).

Well, I heard reports he had a switchblade hidden in his pants. Are we supposed to assume that the police planted it?

If you take that view, you won't believe anything unless it's 100% what you expect/want it to be. Then what's the point of doing an investigation anyway?

I think what we are missing is the time of events. This, if true puts Freddie in the van and what would appear to be unharmed. Men with severed spinal cords do not bang their heads on the metal partitions of the van.

It also releases the white guys who loaded him into the van.

This leak is completely contradicted by earlier confirmed reporting that Gray was unresponsive by the time this other suspect was picked up and that his injuries are inconsistent with self-infliction, all of which has been reported on from the get-go.

Here is a 4 minute interview with Baltimore Investigative Reporter Jayne Miller: Baltimore reporter casts doubt on new Wash. Post report

and here is a longer interview with her: What really happened in the police van?

I agree with you about rioters, but not protestors.

Also the police don't plan to release the report.

What does that matter? I've got a knife on me right now. Normal people carry knives.

Duh, that is what he used to sever his spine.

This other new revelation has the potential to be a bit more informative about the injuries sustained

"A previously undisclosed stop made by the police van carrying Freddie Gray after his arrest in Baltimore has been discovered by investigators, police said, as they announced they had completed a criminal inquiry into his death.

Details of what happened during the stop may shed new light on how Gray sustained fatal injuries in police custody. It was the second of four made by the vehicle on its journey to the western district police headquarters.

Gray was taken from the police station to hospital with a broken neck. He died on 19 April, prompting a wave of protests over police brutality.

“The second stop has been revealed to us in the course of our investigation and was previously unknown to us,” Baltimore deputy police commissioner Kevin Davis said at a press conference. Davis said the stop was filmed by a private CCTV camera."

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/apr/30/baltimore-pol...

Funny how this was mentioned to investigators earlier

Havn't confirmed their races yet. Do you have a source?

Have confirmed baltimore police were racially out of balance with the population.

Here are the officers involved
Quote:
- Lt. Brian Rice, 41, has been a member of the Baltimore Police Department since 1997

- Sgt. Alicia White, 30, has been a member of the Baltimore Police Department since 2010

- Police Officer William Porter, 25, has been a member of the Baltimore Police Department since 2012

- Police Officer Garrett Miller, 26, has been a member of the Baltimore Police Department since 2012

- Police Officer Edward Nero, 29, has been a member of the Baltimore Police Department since 2012

- Police Officer Caesar Goodson, 45, has been a member of the Baltimore Police Department since 1999

Lt. Brian Rice had a history of violence outside of police settings.

Looks like the three primary arresting officers were white from the photo here.

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/fivepoints/freddie-gray-death-b...

He was fine going into the van, wasn't seatbelted and was in leg irons and handcuffs. He had a severed spinal cord and an "80% severed" neck when he was taken from the van 30 minutes later.

Basically he was executed for previously selling and buying pot, for running from the police (before they asked him to stop), and for having a switchblade knife on him. Oh yea.. and he was black but I'm sure they would have treated mila kunis the same way so that's a non-factor.
