The original special (lasts until 11/24) was $150 for 8 randomly-selected games with a list of at least $275.

Today's "Black Wednesday" special knocks 15% of that to $127.50 and you can still use the November coupon (code 20061106) for another 20% off,e.g, $102. Since their online system logs this as a single item the shipping is only $8 !

Of course the "random" thing is a bit of a crapshoot with AP but for $110 I flopped!

Wish me luck!
D.

I am a weak, weak individual.

Between this, Geosphere's black box and the FFG sale I'm already down $200 this week.

Just following the marketing trends. These things really work for liquidating stock and making great offers.

Just ordered the Guadalcanal module for Panzer Grenadier, and Red Vengeance...got another $5 off Guadalcanal due to a mispelling on the cover (?)...weird, but I'll take it. Total price $56 including shipping and my unwilling contribution to the Commonwealth.

Hey, I just can't pass up what seems like a very good deal.

I've got my Nin Gonost set, so a chance to add some minis and more paints/brushes/etc was a no-brainer.

I play and Enjoy Panzer Grenadier (I've got two of the titles already) so Avalanche's deal seemed attractive.

FFG's sale allowed me to pick up cheaply a lot of titles I'd been on the fence about...

"Hurm, not sure if I want that for twenty dollars..."

"How about for Five?"

"SOLD!"

Doh! This was a great deal. I was going to place an order earlier today but had to run some errands. Got back home just a bit ago and it seems their 'specials' clock is set on EST because the shopping cart is no longer showing the 15% off. Oh well... I've spent way too much already, this will probably be a good thing in the end. laugh

I'd be interested in followup from anyone else who took advantage of this offer. What you got - whether it was appreciated!

It was a great deal: $110 for $275 worth of games but I was still pretty disappointed.

I am mostly a fan of their pre-WWII games but nevertheless ended up with 7 of the 8 in the WWII category.

The "random" selection of 8 games with value of "at least $275" seems, amazingly, to have resulted in 8 games with an EXACT value of $275 (technically they hedged that one since all the .99's leave it at $274.92).

Here's what I got:

Gazala 1942
Red Vengeance
Alsace 1945
Red God of War
PG Airborne - Intro edition
Midway
Afrika Korps
Rome at War

Many of these titles have also shown up on the wargame maths trade (in shrink or close to it); however, so have a few others. I was disappointed at the overwhelming number of WWII games, also, as I prefer my wars a bit more distant and less mechanical, but WWII remains the bread and butter of the company and the industry. You can't blame them for that.

I split my box with a friend; I got Fading Legions, Midway, Gazala, and Alsace. He got the others.
