I believe they used sharper blades to make the punch-out sheets in the CGE edition, so they're much easier to punch out. Also, the cardboard money looks larger to me in the CGE edition than it is in the RGG edition. That's the only component change I've noticed.
I played the newer CGE edition for the first time, and the coins definitely seemed larger.
As for the die-cuts, I assumed they were worse, as the copy I played had many rips and hanging edges of paper on the counters.
