Don't have mine with me to measure them.

The figures look about 15mm to me. But are the tanks 1/300 scale? A real Sherman measured 5.84m, which would put a 1/300 model at just under 2cm.

If so, can one buy 1/300 scale armour in plastic or resin? (I am not really interested in lead/pewter stuff.) The pre-painted Axis and Allies Miniatures are supposed to be 15mm - does that include the vehicles?

I've not been a miniatures player but a couple friends who are say the A&A minis are not a standard wargaming scale at all. Me? I can't confirm that.

But there several inconsistencies in scale of both games. The A&A vehicle Minis are much larger than the M'44 tanks. A&A minis barely fit one tank in a 2.25" (5.7cm) M'44 hex.

I acquired a 4' x 6' (114 X 182 cm) hex mat w/ 5" (12.7 cm) hexes and have collected enough A&A minis to play a giant sized M'44. (pix under my profile)

I should take a photo of the units side by side.

The infantry are a tad bigger than 1/72. The tanks are much bigger than 1/285, so I don't know where they fall...maybe around 1/144 or something like that?
