What interesting Expansion should be done with the Time periods?

Longer individual missions. So I can play the game more often.

I think the expansion schedule is going to rather predictable:

- Small Box 1: before Empire (we're seeing this w/Twin Suns)
- Big Box 1: Empire (i.e. hoth/bespin)
- Small Box 2: before Jedi
- Big Box 2: Jedi (i.e. tatooine (again), endor)

After those are said and done, Episode VII will be out, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a big box Eps VII come out. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to see a completely "new" stand-alone (but fully compatible) game for Eps VII, kind of like how the D&D Adventure Games are separate but compatible.

After Big Box 2, FFG has a bit of free reign to build whatever they want. Since they're tapping into the EU, I imagine will see some Shadows of the Empire stuff (i.e. Xixor, Black Sun, etc). I also imagine we'll see (shudder) Heirs of the Empire stuff (i.e. Mara Jade and co). I wouldn't be surprised to see a Witches of Dathomir (Rancor Riders anyone?), and I'd personally love to see some Corporate Sector stuff (some of the best EU material out there).

There's also general settings we haven't seen that they'll probably explore. Like swamp settings, city settings, jungle settings, shapeshipe tiles (Falcon anyone?), etc. There is so much material here, FFG could go for years and years and only scratch the surface.

-shnar

P.S. While I know this will never happen, I'd love to see a reverse setting, i.e. a Rebel 'overlord' and Imperial 'heroes'.

More weapons.

They released the game with far too few.

I know they will be coming, but for me it's a question of how many expansions before I feel like there is finally sufficient variety - I have doubts one will be enough.

I wonder if this is a licensing issue? I can't see FFG passing up the opportunity for no reason. Despite the prequels being not being in the forefront lately, there are many fans that enjoy that setting.

I remember the CEO saying it a while back.

Not a licensing issue. He just said they had no interest in prequel material. Now they have VII, it's even more unlikely.

I was thinking the same thing. Tie Fighter was such an awesome game. Not sure if you know or not, but the series has been rereleased on Steam.
I'm torn. Pick up a joystick and relive part of my youth or leave it on the pedestal it sits on in my memory?

I think an ally/villain pack of Crix Madine would be interesting.

As an Imperial Officer who defected to Rebels, you could include cards (or models) for both situations. This would be determined by the campaign timeline.

The 'hero' side mission could include a rescue mission for the Allies to penetrate a facility and escape with Madine, or could be a mission using his knowledge of the imperials to sabotage a facility.

I'm sure FFG could think of the Imperial Agenda and mission for his time as an Imperial Officer.

So Commander Madine could be an Elite Imperial Officer with enhanced skills and General Madine may like Gideon.

EDIT: An alternate method may be a future 'story mission' with the Crix figure becoming an Ally to the Heros or a Villian to the Imperial depending on who wins.

There is so much there in terms of canon, I really hope we don't see EU stuff for a long time (especially since most of the EU stuff is explicitly no longer canon).

-different types of Imperial units (Gunners, Pilots, Snowtroopers)
-Tuskens
-Jawas
-Cantina denizens
-Rebel Pilots
-Hoth Rebels
-Tauntauns/Banthas/Dewbacks
-Bounty Hunters
-Yoda/Emperor
-Cloud City residents (Ugnaughts, Lando, Lobot, Cloud Car Pilots)
-Jabba's Court
-More Rebels (Rebel Briefing Room)
-Ewoks
-Rebel Commandos

There are so many sets here....no need to jump into the obscure EU stuff as quickly as X-Wing did. Look at the old SW Minis line for many examples (minues the 10 versions of each main character).

I'd like to see fully playable original trilogy hero characters with new campaigns.
Not talkin abou your bulk cruisers errr a hero ally expansions or new unknown charactors mind you but fullly fledged original trilogy characters in campaigns set in time lines in between episodes 4-5, 5,6 even 6-7.

Most unfortunate from the point of view of fans of the entire saga. Material should be released in such a format that players find it optional to purchase certain expansions if they don't wish to. Don't like the prequel expansion? Don't buy it. Don't like a, say, Hoth expansion? Don't buy it. Personally, I'd be ecstatic to see Imperial Assault celebrate the entire saga, not just the bits the licensee likes best.

Leia seems inevitable. They're probably spacing out the high-profile characters to keep long-term interest, though.

Yes, and I'm quite frustrated. I bought it not too long ago on GOG, and even bought a flightmaster to play again. But I do like having my games on steam, and now these ones are not

The lack of DRM on GOG is really nice for games like that. Install it on all of your PCs and do a LAN party!

Unless you want 'generic dark side zabrak' and 'generic cyborg lightsaber wielder' than yes, they are exclusive.

But hey, you can keep on wishing and praying for prequel stuff if you want, you're just setting yourself up for disappointment when each expansion comes out.

Clearly FFG doesn't agree with you seeing as the core set already has EU in it (the Royal Guard Champion).
