Nathalie convinced us to finish the evening with a game of Carcassonne and she told us it wasn't because this was the game she performed the best. We played with the basic tiles and the river expansion. We also use a variant in wich we keep 1 tile in our hand so we have the choice between 2 tiles for placement. In our last games, this added nice strategy and at the same time the game would still be considered a light game.

Right at the beginning when we were still placing river tiles, Mario tried to be included in Martin's city. Nathalie and Adrien also put a meeple on a river tile with a city so she would be include in the future castle of Mario and Martin. This first big city was never achieved and the players builded elsewhere. Nathalie then began a city with Pierre and Mario again was able to make an infiltration. It soon became very big and Mario was able to put a second meeple and he had a majority. He had alsmost completed the city when Adrien put an all city tile at the end and Mario didn't finish it. This would have give him a big victory and so we could continue the game. It wasn't easy to close cities specially with the basic tiles and most of the completed cities were only 2 tiles big. Pierre put all his meeple in the same area to help his monastery and try to put some farmer around his small city.

Mario's lead in the big city finally gave him the win. The game was fun and this is one of the game we don't play often enough. It's a filler game but you can still control some parts of your game and interaction is great.

Final scoring:
Mario: 65
Adrien: 55
Martin-Pierre: 51
Nathalie: 33
