Hey All,

I'm looking for good wargaming magazines, either printed or web-based. What are your favorites?

Best,
Chad

Fire & Movement is also published by Decision Games. Unlike S&T (linked above) this mag does not include a game but is instead packed with reviews, previews and other articles about wargames and wargaming - unlike S&T, which contains mostly historical articles and surprisingly little gaming content.

Depends what you are looking for. Check out the respective websites, but there are several different types of magazines.

Some are review magazines (e.g. "Paper Wars").

Others are primarily "get a game every issue" type (e.g. "Strategy & Tactics", or "Against the Odds"). These magazines usually have historical background articles about the game subject.

Some are "house organs", oriented towards only covering games owned by their company (e.g. "C3I" magazine does that for GMT Games). These magazines often have add ons (new scenarios and counters) or supporting information (errata, design and strategy articles) for their company's games.

Now, there are other examples which have a mix of these kind of formats. I think "Fire & Movement" is now a mix of support for Decision Games plus reviews.

Also, there are some other magazines like "Armchair General" which also have a somewhat broader coverage including computer games and other stuff, though with a general wargame/military history theme.

Currently, I subscribe to Paper Wars and C3I. But if I had more time & money, I might subscribe to more.

The only wargame magazine I currently subscribe to is 'Armchair General' which I strongly recommend. Strategy & Tactics I don't subscribe to but pick up from time to time. It's also a top notch publication.

Here's a link to the wargamer version of "Signs and Portents" (also has an RPG version) ...Mongoose's in house magazine. Great for the games they (Mongoose) produce but not much outside that.
