Wood Elf Infantry and Archers
Wood Elves are breathtakingly remarkable craftsmen; their works are highly sought after and prized throughout Myrathia and lands beyond. The exquisite details imparted on long bows, war hammers, pikes, swords, crossbows, and all nature of armor convey almost a magical sense of power to the weapon and its bearer. Wood Elves have also been known to construct siege engines of improbable proportions that briskly bring about the downfall of any fortified defense. Tiny carved boxes, wood frames, and other decorative pieces are so finely crafted that it is said that their features appear to move when closely observed. The Wood Elves harmony with bough and beam grants them near magical ability to shape the most harden wood from the Haunted Forest beneath their tools as if it were newly churned butter or clay from the Dianites River bottom.
Wood Elves, as a whole, are extraordinarily reclusive. They live closely guarded lives in glades deeply hidden in the Thulien forests. You will find a Wood Elf only if he or she wants to be found. Hundreds of years, and the armies of Men, have taken their toll on the Wood Elves. Before the Wars of Man, in the old kingdom of Vandar, the protected enclaves of Wood Elf Groves were plentiful across the lands of Myrathia. Now, all but a few remain. Even the once great Wood Elf Grove at the Shipyards of Light has fallen into disrepair as the need for its gifted shipwrights has mirrored the decline of Port Landing.
Wood Elves are fierce combatants on the battlefield; their whiplike strength and lithe figures allow them to move in swift grace wielding finely crafted weapons with deadly efficiency. Wood Elf Infantry is a deadly addition to the rear ranks of any Warlord's army raining destruction on an opponent's troops with fatal accuracy. Casting the Enchant Bow spell on the Wood Elf archers provide yet another die in combat. Recruiting of Wood Elves is enhanced with the Sacred Book of the Kwendiril, a powerful relic giving its owner 1 free Wood Elf Archer when recruiting at least 2 Wood Elves.

Wood Elf Spearmen
One in a thousand or more Wood Elves are born without the extraordinary talents of their race. They are often able to hide their shortcomings, sometimes for many seasons, following their admission into their chosen guild. As their helplessness and frustration grow, so do the elaborate efforts to conceal their true nature until they are ultimately discovered and dismissed with contempt.
Heeding a mysterious beckoning call, the outcast Wood Elves slip away in the black of night in a near trance-like pilgrimage deep into the verdant Thulien wilds to a grove concealed by the forest itself. There they train in near cult like fanaticism to wield a spear in mastery nearly equal to craftsmanship of their brethren. Their devotion to the art of the spear is their only salve to heal the anger and resentment toward their personal lack of skill with the chisel and block, hammer and tongs.

And there isn't a "Wood Elves Go Home" event card, so you can be sure they won't all say "sod this for a game of soldiers" and vanish back into the woods.
