GMT has added 1989 to the P500, which means...we sold out! We will incorporate all known errata into the new rules. What about changing the counter mix, i.e. not enough 5s and too many 1s? Or are there event counters that would be useful or ones that we don't need? Any other ideas?

Definitely could use more 3s and 4s in the counter mix.

A slight edit to the power struggle cards to add the icons to match what's on the map.

Colour coding the event cards so I know which country Kaopectate is in.

+1 for both suggestions.

Adding the corresponding icons on the leader cards of the power struggle would help very much !!!

If the player aid could include the initial set up/adding influence point, that would be handy too.

The icons on power struggle cards would definitely be a great addition.

My wishlist:

- icons in power struggle cards
- when cards refer to a space name (like Ruse for example), include the country where it is located. Something like: Ruse (Bulgaria) or Ruse (BU). It's tedious to be looking for those spaces all over the map
- +1 tokens for subsequent Tiananmen die rolls after the 1st failure
- tokens to show who has power in each country
- tokens for events 54, 83, 86 and 108, to show that another card is now playable, just like 73 allows 107 and there is a token for this, so why not for the above numbers? (54, 83, 86 and 108)
- I as a Democrat ran out of 5's in my last game, so it could mean there should be more of them

Add to wishlist:
- a bigger box: larger so the gmt counter tray fit without have to cut it and higher so I'm able to close the box (with counter tray and sleeved cards)

I'd much rather see the reprint of my own personal 1989, thank you very much. Yeah...freshman year of college would be the perfect starting point for a reprint of me.

It is not on the board. I meant how many points both player have to add before they start the game.

Also, there is an error in the Card Manifest:
54. Ceausescu is misspelled (missing an S)

Yes: isn't that somewhere near the upper right corner of the board?

It's on the board, in the big box marked 'setup'. Re delirium, how many fingers am I holding up? thumbsup

And please fix the error on the 5th space of the Tiananmen Square on the board... to "Discard non‐Scoring card and draw replacement
card at start of Turn"

Additional Win Conditions:

If the Democrat manages to obtain power in all 6 countries, they win instantly.

If the Communist manages to retain power in all 6 countries at the end of turn 10, Final Scoring does not happen; they win.

Somewhat similar to Europe Control in Twilight Struggle: thematic, extremely unlikely, but can happen if one player is really not on the ball.

I'd really like to see an alternative presented for the Power Struggle mechanic - e.g. replace it with a modified die roll. I guess you wouldn't just get rid of the PS mechanic since enough people like it, but I absolutely loathe it and nobody I've played it with likes it either (I'm trying to get my own variant working to replace it myself) - I think it distracts enormously since you have to suddenly switch to this time-consuming minigame that doesn't really add anything to the game IMO.

One thing I noticed on both Twilight struggle and 1989 is that there are explanations for the historical events for the strategy cards, but not much in the way of elaboration on what the cards actually mean in terms of gameplay. I think it'd be nice if there was more of the latter thrown in too.
