From BF's site (http://www.faidutti.com/index.php?Module=ludotheque&id=466) which comes with a very positive review of the game:

"...there seems to be a great advantage, especially with many players, in relying on farms rather than on cities or legions. Simple maths confirm it : with 2 or 3 players, there are 1.33 times more farms than legions or cities. This ratio grows to 1.4 with 4 players, 1.5 with 5 players, and 1.66 with 6 players – and it’s definitely too high. That’s why I suggest the following changes in the game setup with five or six players.
• 5 players : start with one farm less per player, meaning 5 farms, 4 cities, 4 legions.
• 6 players : give each player 4 farms, 3 cities, 3 legions. Then take in the remaining cards 4 farms, one city and one legion, shuffle them and deal one to each player.
This ought to make the game with many players, which can be quite fun, more balanced"
