Hi

Just played my first game of Black Fleet. Which I picked up at UK Games Expo. We thought it was great.

Just one rule question...

When you earn 2 doubloons for sinking an opponent pirate ship or stealing goods off an opponents merchant ship, does it come from the bank or from the opponent?

We played that it came from the bank, but from the opponent might work also, perhaps make a longer game.

Anyone have any thoughts.

Regards

I don't have the rules with me, but I play that all the money comes from the bank.

There is a duck in every game. You may not see it, but it's there.

Payouts always come from the bank

They may often be closer than you think. The BGG game page often has useful guidance in the Web Links section, or sometimes the Files section

Before, during, or after its movement, the navy ship you are moving can attack an adjacent opposing pirate. That ship is sunk and returned to its owner. You win 2 doubloons.

Another player is never mentioned regarding the payment, so the Bank can be inferred just as others have said. And the same as other times when the rules say you "earn" doubloons.

Weblinks and Files section are a great resource, I tried that before posting, but the website was blocked by our IT Dept.

There's also the much-neglected Rules Wiki page:

That may be useful as general guidance to others although I do not see Black Fleet currently represented there.
