I've been playing Dead of Winter but there are a few things I'm not clear on, and looking at the manual hasn't helped. Can anyone clarify?

1) What happens if a card says to add zombies to a location - other than the colony - that is already full of zombies?

2) What do you do with the add survivor search card when finished with - do they go on the waste pile, or just get discarded separately?

3) Is there any explanation for the crisis cards? Eg the Dead March one requiring you to get fuel or tools?

For further clarification on #2:
The online PDF version of the rulebook here: http://www.plaidhatgames.com/images/games/dead-of-winter/rul...
is actually lacking any information on what to specifically do with "Event" (Survivor) cards.
The paper rulebook that comes in the box actually has an explicit sentence that they are removed from the game.

I'm still not sure how the paper rulebook can be more up-to-date than the electronic one, but so it is...

1. So does that mean you just leave it with all three spaces filled, or do you transfer some zombies to the colony?

3. As in saying why you need items for some of the more obscure cards. Eg 'They're watching us' where you have to have medicine or tools to stop zombies being added to the grocery store - I don't see the connection.

1)You leave the spaces filled. Any extra zombies would kill survivors at the location. If there are no survivors at the location, than nothing really happens

Zombies never move from their spaces unless someone uses the Attract action. And they never leave the game unless someone kills them.

I don't think there's any official story explanation for the Crisis cards. I don't have any idea why the players would need to come up with Medicine and Tools in order to avert a crisis called "They're Watching Us." It says that if you fail it, three zombies will get added to the library and three to the grocery store. Maybe the survivors are able to rig up some traps using medicine and tools to keep those six zombies at bay.
