I was just praying we wouldn't get another Lambda Shuttle dial, since the stats were so good. Luckily we have the white 3 turn, the expanded arc, and I don't even hate the red stop or red 2 turn if you factor in Outlaw Tech.

Super excited about this ship.

Since this is the first ship we've seen with an auxiliary firing arc and multiple crew slots, is anybody else excited to stick 2 tacticians in this baby and wreck somebody's day?

I for one can't wait to run a double Tactician YV-666 with some Warthogs (Scum Ys with Ion, Title and Agromech) for a list with tons of control and lots of HP.

Why stop at double? Have a triple Tactician!

Wow. Latts Razzi's ability is STUPID good. You could run that ship + Weapons Engineer + Title AND 2x Tansarii Point Vets + Predator and HLC. That could make the low-level Starviper pilots viable as escort. Or throw in Palob, because why not?

My mind is boggling. Boggling, I say. I'm wondering if the Rebels and Imperials will get such a potential game-changer.

Sure, but Wedge is a Rebel, not Scum, for one. And Wedge doesn't have another pilot ability to stack on top of the defense die removal like Latts' wingmen can.

Wedge can only do it if he has the shot. Latts can enable it for anybody who has a shot on the target -- potentially getting it in more frequently by dint of numbers, as well as by the virtue of letting pilots who have abilities that get them into firing position more often benefit from the buffed shot. Also, Latts can do it twice a turn for that action.

So, yeah. There are reasons to be excited for this rather than just seeing it as a retread of one of the most deadly pilot abilities in the game.

If you want to get up in arms over something disappointing, complain that the article is highlighting an obvious and compelling synergy that's so lore-breaking as suggesting that Bossk work alongside a wookiee Gunner. So disappointing. Maybe FFG will make an alt-art non-wookiee Gunner as a 16-of tournament kit prize.

I'm still not 100% sure how the auxiliary firing arc works.

Is this ship literally going to be able to shoot straight out from the sides? (and anywhere inbetween?)

I wonder how "deploy" will be defined when "dropping" the Pup - ie where do you place and what orientation/facing

Being a bold/defined term on eth Hounds Tooth title card, the answer will be in accompanying rule sheet I am sure

"Deploy" is what you do during setup isn't it? i.e. place your ship within range 1 of your board edge.

Would seem a bit odd to place the Nashath pup (that should essentially be ejected from the ship on destruction) near the edge of the map. I would imagine it to be refined as being placed anywhere within range 1 of the HoundsTooth. Or possible range 1 at a specific orientation.

I honestly don't see how one less green dice is such a big deal when many abilities that instead adds a red dice don't get much love. If I'm not mistaken, there are more hits on red then evade on green, so more red should be better then less green right?

To counter C-3PO on ships with 1 agility?
C-3PO triggers only if you roll at least one die.

Well, yes, but he wasn't nice about it and he always intended on betraying them.

I assume that is how it will work. It should work just like the slave 1. Primary arc straight out the front and auxillary arc out both sides making a full 180 deg. Any ability that needs to be in primary arc, munitions etc will only fire in the front arc.

Sure they aren't. But the notion of sticking Bossk's card down next to a card that is obviously depicting a wookiee and them being best gameplay buds doesn't pull you out of the setting just a bit?

Of course there are other gunners in the universe that aren't wookiees. Which is why I suggested we get an alternate card art depicting one as a remedy to address this lore-based (admittedly minor) gripe.

Here are the spoiled cards and dial from the article:

Glitterstim looks pretty awesome, albeit one-time use. Like Marksmanship, it combos nicely with Predator and Gunner. But most importantly, you can use it even if you lost your actions (from bumping another ship or overlapping an obstacle or whatever) and Palob Godalhi can't take it away from you. And it works on every attack you're going to face that round. Can you imagine if Biggs could use this? Good thing it's "illicit" and Biggs strictly obeys the law - well, aside from betraying the Empire to join a pitiful band of Rebels.

And regarding the Wookiee comments, it seems appropriate that Bossk (pilot) counters Chewbacca's pilot ability, essentially dealing him a Direct Hit instead of a flipped-down crit.

Just assume the gunner is indentured or a slave himself - Bossk has him in service so long as he does a respectable job. The moment he isn't gunning well he gets flushed out the airlock or sold to a labor camp.

The way I read Razzi's card, he doesn't have to be in range to trigger the effect. So a ship he took a TL on in an earlier turn could be all the way across the board and he can still reduce its agility. He's got enough survivability that he can probably pop this ability at least twice, and if you take the Title he can still do it in the Pup.

I think that is a very different strategy than a single ace with a built-in Superoutmaneuver. Not better, because Wedge is awesome - but Wedge dies faster in my experience even when hiding behind Biggs' mustache.
