Ah, yes, but I think you are confusing GeekSeer with the GeekSear feature, which has already been implemented:

Yes, yes they were, due to the intense hotness of a deal.

Just seems like "geeks on fire" is the BGG theme of the day.

On another note, I just hope "geekseer" isn't a technology that allows the BGG admins to see me through my computer screen.

I've been on the edge of my seat about GeekSeer for a while now, ever since one of the Admins gave away just a teensy bit of info, which really piqued my curiosity. I can't wait!

Was the info posted publicly somewhere?

I've been staking out GeekSeer for a while, too. I wonder if it's anything like the old GeekSpy.

Yes it was, I'm trying to find it now...

EDIT: Found it, check out:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/125289

Here are the specific comments I was referring to. They were made by Sterling Babcock (sbabcock) before he realized that only Admins could see what GeekSeer was I believe. I still have no clue what it actually is, but these comments pique my curiosity for sure!

Spoiler (click to reveal)
Very nice! I especially like the fading colors! A few comments:

- Can you make the previous page update remain in the lightest color, so you know which ones are on the previous update?

- Can you make it alternate white and colored for the previous pages:
Current - Fades to 2nd lightest and stays
Last - 1st lightest
2nd to last: White
3rd: 1st lightest
4th white
5th 1st lightest, etc.

- Edit 2: Edits do not trigger an update. Should they?

- Edit 3: Perhaps a scroll bar to some limit of lines, like 100 lines, or 5 updates?

- Edit 4: Filtering would be nice. Oh! It is there. Nice!

That's also the thread where Aldie said:

and we got the hilarious reply:

You're welcome Jesse

So what do Sterling's comments mean, any idea?

Sounds maybe like the Digg Spy feature on Digg? Basically shows a page in real time of what people are posting/updating (or in Digg's case digging) on the site.

Yeah, it does kinda sound like that.

A long time ago (2003? 2002?) there was a feature called GeekSpy that worked kinda like that (but not quite real-time, if I remember right).
