It always seems weird to me that iron chef was an early competitive cooking show in the US? Is that just for Food Network?
Actually Iron Chef was a Japanese cooking show that had some mild success. After its run ended, the food network picked it up for filler programming and it became a ?BIG? hit for them... which caused the japanese maker to begin producing special events again... and the food network to make an American version...
love the old japanese shows the US ones ... not so much...
