Well, you DID get your turn on the soapbox, didn't you?

And I'm not even offended by that.

As a vegetarian, I am interpreting that ghastly, charnel house display of meat as a personal attack.

The waffles though...that looks good...

Come on, folks. Someone points an an uncomfortable fact, and the best you can do is try to bury it under noise? What, do you think that people will stop noticing things like this if you marginalize them?

Interesting to see all the foodstuffs in the thread... as it was Emerson that coined the phrase "You are what you eat".

As a diabetic, I find this display of sugar (as well as the candy cane) as a personnal attack.

While the Hot dog...

The only thing that excuses it is that male gamer (or plumber) ass hanging out of pants is a FAR, FAR greater threat than "personal attacks". So it's sorta like when Magneto decides to team up with the X-Men for a common cause.

And aside from that I'm glad to see Aldie getting on the "personal attack" bandwagon by greenlighting the cartoon.

Making a cliched joke about plumbers and gamers can hardly be construed as a personal attack. A personal attack would be something like:

"You're stupid"

"You're fat, smelly and ugly"

"I hate you"

"Go to hell"

"You only review games because you get free games in return and your opinion sucks and I think you're stupid."

Exactly! That cartoon is in no way offensive. It's just playing off a inaccurate yet well-known stereotype that elicits a laugh at the expense of a particular group of people.

For instance, it's not like the cartoon had some geeks counting their game money at a table next to some Jews counting their game money. That would be offensive. See, plumbers CHOOSE to be plumbers, so it's ok to make fun of them. And they don't have feelings like the rest of us do. So it's not offensive, see? PLUS, who doesn't laugh at butts? Stuck-up prudes, that's who!

It's really very easy to tell what you're allowed to make fun of on BGG. Just make fun of it, and see if it gets deleted! If it doesn't, you can make fun of it till the cows come home again and again!

Cows comment deleted to avoid offending cows.

I suppose I should clarify that I was indeed trying to push a point there, and not actually making a racist remark. I wouldn't want anyone getting the wrong idea about their superheroes.
