So I posted a thread a couple of months ago about how I improved my life by giving up a 20 year smoking habit and losing a decent amount of weight - A new me

I thought I would update and say my final weight I want to be is 80kg(176lb)
As of today I am 80.2kg and very happy.
I have lost 65.4kg (144lb) and am able to run with my 11 year old daughter and 9 year old son and even out run them, with much dancing from me.

Here is a photo of me 1 year ago with my son:

And here is a photo of me now with my son (he is a bit taller, I'm a fair bit thinner):

Thanks to everyone who thumbed me and to the people who gave me geekgold in the last thread, it motivated me to continue on and get to the weight I wanted to be at.

Edit: JoshBot is a legend for giving me the same amount of geekgold as the weight I've lost twice now. Thanks mate it means a lot.

Way to go man!

Usually people end up putting on weight when they give up smoking. Good on you for putting in the work and having the will power!

Either the weight or the smoking on its own would be tough enough. Both together is amazing. Good on ya!

10 years ago I was diagnosed with a thyroid problem. I was close to 260 pounds. My doctor told me that with medication and starting to exercise 3 days a week the weight should drop off. I did and it did. I lost 40 pounds in 12 weeks. The biggest day was when I took a pare of jeans that use to be to tight for me to wear anymore and took them off without having to undo them. Today I weigh 210 which is the same I weighed in my 20s.

So I know the feeling Ray. It's a great accomplishment you've achieved! Congratulations!!!
