This weekend we had a large scale refight of Rossbach on a 12 x 6 table at Little Wars in Adelaide.

The field of glory

We were fortunate enough to have 5-6 players a side, with lots of nicely painted Prussians, Austrians and French. The Hapsburgs had organized the event, which was beautifully set up, immaculately planned and well organized. We all had little personalities to run, with our own cards and commands.

Mighty Prussian cavalry under Seydlitz

The game went well with a hard hit and run by the Prussians, as well as some lucky dice and cards causing havoc in the Austrian ranks. They took this well as they were carted off the field on stretchers.

Getting ready to deliver some lead balls

Their allies the French managed to double time into action, and after a few bloody noses at the end of the Prussian muskets closed to show the Prussians their cold steel. This was not a nice experience and resulted in the Prussian weeping into their small beers.

Advancing French infantry

All in all a great day, followed by a nice meal, weisbeer and banter at the local German Club. Many thanks to all involved - especially Marcus who did the hard yards in getting it all set up and organized.
