Hi all,

I'm new to Copenhagen and I was wondering if there were any English speaking board gamers around who would be up for some non-serious games. I'm a 37 year old woman from Australia who plays some computer games in her spare time.

I am relatively new to table top gaming. I played a little Descent when I was in Tokyo and would be keen to learn some more games.

I'm looking for a friendly, laid back group of people to play with, learn from and have a laugh with.

If you wouldn't mind an extra person joining in on a couple games, give me a yell. I'm kind of keen to get in on some games at Bastard Cafe..seems like a cool place!

Fairlie

Unfortunately I don't have time to go so often myself, but you could check out the links below. I have only ever attended a single meetup so I don't know if these groups are still active nor what types of games are played at the respective groups. Perhaps someone else can elaborate on this?

http://www.consim.dk/aktiviteter/spillemoder (Valby - 1st Sunday each month 11:00-18:00)
http://strategispil.dk/?page_id=339 (Jagtvej – Every Tuesday 18:00)
https://www.facebook.com/events/830070957069836/ (Bastard café – Monday matchup)
http://www.meetup.com/Get-the-game-started/ (Bastard café – Every Sunday. I attended this once, and there seemed to be quite the turn up. FYI the players were mostly international.)
http://www.meetup.com/Twosday-night-is-Games-Night/ (Frederiksberg – 2nd Tuesday each month)
http://www.meetup.com/Amardillo-Game-Music-Film/ (Meetup group. This may be the same people as the Twosday meetup?)
http://www.gamesweb.dk/gamesnight/ (Købmagergade 52, 1st Monday each month 17:30-23:00)
http://www.faraos.dk/Webshop/Information/Br%E6tspilsKlub (Skindergade 27, Last Sunday each month 13:00-21:00)

Have fun

Greetings. And welcome to the cardboard addiction.

I can't offer a gaming group at this point. But I'll recommed that you drop by Bastard Café, a board game café in Copenhagen: http://bastardcafe.dk/

Also. The biggest annual danish board game convention will take place in october; Viking-Con 34: www.Viking-Con.dk

And welcome to our little corner of the world.

Welcome to Copenhagen Fairlie.

As Bongriz already showed there are some nice regular groups and events; I am a co-organizer in the two meetup groups (mostly active in Twosdays Night Is Games Night at the moment) - I believe there is one more where they play one specific game... I will see if I can find it by any chance....

In Twosdays Night is Games Night we meet once a month at Café Cadeau, a non-profit café at Frederiksberg and play games; usually we recommend people to announce what they want to bring and encourage people to sign up for one of the games, but ofcause free styling is always welcome; the disadvange of Café Cadeau is that they do not have any games so if there aren't any games brought we can not play. I usually bring some various party games and card games, as well as a game that I play.
The event is always on the second Tuesday of the month (hence the name "Twosday") and is always at Café Cadeau (with the exception of July where the café is closed for vacation).

At Get The Game Started we play mainly at Bastard Café (used to hang out at Café Retro Nørrebro), sometimes at private locations and sometimes play outdoors...
Many of the people in the two groups are the same, but some are also individuals.
In GTGS there are more events going on - where as in TNIGN mostly have only once-a-month events - with a (VERY) few spin-offs through out the year... but ideas are always welcome!

Feel free to contact me if you are looking for someone to play with on a regular basis; I always have games laying around and often can get someone to meet up for playing a game (I am sharing apartment with nenepyga and is in regular contact with a few other players so it shouldn't be too difficult to get some people together to get to play something...

Hi Fairlie and welcome to cph/Denmark;
You're welcome to visit us in KBK (Copenhagen Boardgame Community); we gather every Tuesday at 18 o'clock and are situated at Nørrebro (Jagtvej 59). Just press the buzzer "Brædtspil" around 18 hrs and walk into the backyard where you find us by walking down a couple of stairs into our gaming room (easy to find).
Many people play here; both long-time members as well as people who just stay in cph for a shorter period (phd students; expats and other gamers from abroad). You'll find a variety of games (+1000) in our community and also gamers to join who knows everything that is to know about board gaming in cph. I'm sure that you can find a steady group if you join the community (and don't have social anxiety
