I have just noticed this forum while doing a search for Crossbows and Catapults.

I dont know whether there is demand for this, hence the post.

Basically, I run my own company and I specialise in both consultancy and product design and development in plastics/polymers.

I was wondering if there was any requirements for replication of parts out there? I realise that some of the old games are hard to come by now and it would be great if replacement parts could be made available for these old board games. I could quite easily manufacture the parts but I wonder if there is demand.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated, is this the right forum for this sort of question ?

Kind Regards

I'd say "Yes and No".

There is always a need for replacement components. However, the one concern you need to remember is that some pieces have copyright attachments to them as they are works of art and product. Think about the fury of Games Workshop if you duped a Warhammer figure with 10 cents of resin that they sell for $35. Easilly do-able and their ban hammer is huge.

However, there is nothing wrong with making an alternative set that works well with a game. I've sold quite a few packs of an add-on for Risk and A&A that included a set of replacement components that are modern day that use the original games board and rules. Heck, I even sculpted and molded a zombie figure for an elite version of Lomby Zombie.
