Mostly made up of spare parts and sarcasm! ... HTTP Error 418 I'm a Teapot!

we played this for the first time tonite is there any significance to the number of 'pips' on the card. It can't be like 'regular' playing cards because there are no odd numbers.

It's the number of copies of that card there are in the deck.

The pips represent how many of that type of card are in the deck. Obviously the lower numbers are more rare, therefore more attractive to take in order to complete sets.

What this guy said.

A card with 2 pips on it means that there are only 2 of those cards in the deck. Making them rare. The slave/fakirs have the number 18 meaning that there are 18 of those in the deck.

It helps you plan your moves if you are going for the set collection of resources.
