PREFACE (edited in for clarification purposes):

1. This IS first and foremost a "Thank You" to Sandy. You deserve more than a mere tip-of-the-hat for what you have accomplished here, which is all out amazing. I might repeat myself on that matter further below. Several times actually.

2. This NOT a review of the game.

3. This IS a review of the behaviour of some of the gentlemen in this forum who have a quite apparent problem with the price of quality, and a problem with waiting for quality - IMHO these would do well to rethink their attitude and be constructive (or silent) for a change.

4. I have been a backer from the very beginning, upgraded to DVM in the final stages (which required my every penny & dime). I have no regrets.

Now, without any further ado, here goes...:

Doubter,

thou readest tomes ‘bout madness, blood and ghastly creatures
yet criticisest many o’ the board game’s features.
“Woe betide you, evil price!
For plastic creatures and some dice??”
Some dice, yes – but ‘plastic creatures’?
These Ancients’ size be out of reach as
Many other board games’ minis try to be
At eye’s level – whilst falling short o’ factor three.

Doubter,

The term of “Backer” implies back of bone.
Yet I perceive a lack of tone
In some of thee, impatient kind.
Implored be thee to keep a steady mind.
Impatience be a virtue in some twisted nether realm,
Yet we would sagely be advised to let patience take the helm
On our course to pleasurable board game madness
Wherein Ancients Evils have you seen the Yellow Sign.

Doubter,

Thy beloved stories treat of Cyclopean architecture
Yet all THOU showst be thy Cyclopean perspective,
one-eyed – not green-eyed – but invective
of this unprecedented board game lecture.

Creator,

Thou hast poured thy heart and soul and sweat
Into a game whose only meager threat
Be to our wallets and our coffers.
Yet beyond comparison is everything it offers:
Gigantic monsters, game mechanics that boast clever
Simplicity on how to win and throw the lever
On Annihilation’s rituals and epic battles
Leading even to an Ancient’s rattles
Of his death and violent demise
Until from R’lyeh he shall rise.
Appallingly appealing to all the human ages
From kaziam’s 8-year-daughter to people in their ancient stages
They all now form thy congregation
As they dare not dream of separation
From this masterpiece of gaming
Which deserves praise and not the blaming.

Hallowed be thy Game.

Creator,

Thou craftest forms and fangs and fates
And even epic plastic gates
To allow tremendous minions through
Way prior to thy Onslaught Two.
Thou takest time for all our inquiries
Yet receivst not only praise but injuries
In word and letter by those cultists who resent
To pay what’s due, yet won’t relent.
Mind not them, Creator of this piece of art.
For such a game, none other would’ve had the heart.
To those few Doubters I sneeringly will mew:
Blind Azathoth shall save especially you!

Hallowed be thy Game.

Creator,

Allow me, oh dreaded lord and master
To avert explicative disaster
By cropping short what needs but few
Words in precise praise, as is long due:
Cthulhu Wars – upon owning, playing and perceiving –
Hath captured every fiber of my being.

Hallowed be thy Game.

It sleeps in a weed-throttled tomb,
We hear mental sendings of doom.
Soon we will all know,
Just before we must go,
We should never have opened its room.
