Hey Fans of SNITCH!

I know many of you have been wondering when this game will release.

Which is a very good question.

I wonder it myself!!!

laugh

But, let me guarantee you this...

I can not tell you exactly when, just that YES it will happen.

Here are some of the factors influencing the timing:

ADVANCED RULES:

I spoke to Richard Launius recently (at Dice Tower Con) about the idea of him designing the advanced rules for the game.

He is every bit as interested in doing that as he has been in the past.

He and I have been planning on this happening for quite some time now.

Getting both of our schedules in sync is one aspect of this, and then the time to let it develop is the other.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER:

I also want Chuck Crouse to do the graphics for it, so...

That is another ball that I am juggling with this.

He is not available to work on this at this time.

OUR Q:

We have a lot in our pipeline right now, finding the right spot for SNITCH is something we are working on.

ETC:

There are too many factors involved to list them all, but you get the idea...

There is plenty influencing the timing of this!

blankblankblankblankblankblankblankblankblankblankblankblankblankblank

In the mean time, we are honoring SNITCH with a card in the new expansion for Police Precinct called Lying Politicians...

Stay tuned!

I stumbled on this game a while back.
I got the print & play file and I have recently started creating this game I have completed the cards most of the modular boards and the info tokens.
Do I now stop now and wait for an update?
Will there be major changes in the components?
Are just the rules changing?

Any information would be helpful.

Cheers
Kon

Hey Kon!

Here is my best guesses about what will change...

1. REGULAR RULES:
Doubt they will change.

2. ADVANCED RULES:
None exist, but likely they will be added to the game.

3. BOARD COLOR:
We are not happy with it and expect it to change.

4. YOUR INFLUENCE:
It is possible that we will get feedback from you that will propel a certain amount of change.

I would proceed because nothing is going to happen for a good while.

MINI-UPDATE:

I have spoken to Chuck recently and learned that he is getting married sometime in the next 12 months.

This is a very exciting development for him and his fiance Charley -- I have to say that... "She found herself a great man and congrats to them both!"

This is exciting for him and holds the possibility of impacting this project:

It definitely means that the idea of him doing the game sooner rather than later has been lessened considering his new focus on shoring up all the plans in relation to the big day.

In our discussion it was clear that his plate is overflowing with his full time gig, the wedding, and I think they're even considering moving again!

I'm not even that concerned about the near term impact, because I want to get the advanced rules farther along with Richard before we get Chuck involved too much again. My bigger worry, and it's not that big of a worry, is that his life will unfold after the wedding in such a way that he is more busy than ever (that's often the case with newlyweds it seems).

If this is how it plays out, we'll be left with the daunting task of replacing him in that role that I so much want to see him fulfill.

This is not a thought I relish, but would not be the end of the world.

I would just need to pick them carefully so as to select someone who gets the vision Chuck and I had for the game's look-and-feel.

It might take time to find the right one.

If this happens, so be it!

Stay tuned, and please cross your fingers that we will be able to recruit Chuck to get back into this project that he loved so much.

Thanks, Karl!

That's good for Chuck...and bad for me

Somehow the artist of Hostage Negotiator popped up on my mind...?

Congratulations to Chuck!

Also, Karl ... Chuck is the graphic designer, not the artist, right? Or does he do both?

Comments like this in this thread might prove very helpful when the day comes (if it does) to look beyond Chuck.

So...

Thanks my good friend!

Hey Rainer!

Short answer:

He is the graphic designer not the artist.

longer answer:

He is a true artist in his level of ability when it comes to graphic design.

And...

I especially fell in love with his style for this particular game.

And...

He did some aspects of the game that fall into the realm of art.

By the end, his title was Art Director across all of Common Man.

By the way...

Here's a quick link to a page on our website that I did some work on today:

http://www.commonman.com/snitch-relaunch/

I think I got everything pretty much up-to-date.

It's a page that probably had not been looked at (by CMG) since the campaign ended.

It is the page linked from the Kickstarter itself.

(meaning if you go to the campaign page and look at the very first image on the page -- which says "click here" -- it takes you to that page)

It is also linked from our main SNITCH page on the CMG site.

Anyway...

You might find it interesting / informative.

Hope so!

(you will also notice that it links back to this page -- sorry in advance for the looping effect)

Thanks! Just asking, since I may have a name or two in mind, should the need arise to look further. But I wanted to make sure I suggest the right type of individual, too ...

Cool!

I would say toss out the names now in this thread.

it can't hurt.

Then maybe when & if the time comes, you will think of even more.

and...

That it could prompt others to do the same, and then the pool grows.

I always like more options.

2016 UPDATE

As we here at Common Man Games ponder the fate of SNITCH for a moment, here are some thoughts...

1. 2015 UPDATE:
Everything in that update still holds true to this day.

2. NEW GAME CALLED SNITCH:
Since the 2015 update several new things have happened, the first is that another game by this same name has come onto the scene. The confusion that surrounds this will surely drive us to take a very serious look at changing the name of our game before we relaunch.

3. TABLETOPIA:
Another of these new things is the Launch of Tabletopia and our embracing of it...
https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1442330/our-thoughts-about-...
We plan to put SNITCH up there and publish it in digital form BEFORE we publish it in cardboard form. The advantages of doing this are numerous.

4. THE APP:
The most unexpected of these "things" is the app we are planning to launch on Kickstarter. It's for Police Precinct, and we never thought this would happen so soon. If someone had asked us in July of 2015 (OP) when we would come out with an app for one of our games, we might have said "in 5-10 years from now" and stipulated that this was just a guess. BUT, it's going to happen in the next 30 days! We didn't see this coming (out of the blue, a company approached us and "the rest is history" as they say). This is relevant in this topic because it soaked up a lot of our time (and will continue to for the next couple months), which pushes everything else back in terms of their timetables. Learn more...
https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/192002/item/4349642#item4...

5. DON'T MISS THE RE-LAUNCH:
So, whenever it happens (the Re-Launch of SNITCH), don't miss out! Best defense against this is to sign up for our Kickstarter Update List...

Hey Manuel!

Always a big pleasure to hear from you!!!

Thanks for supporting another 30 more KS campaigns.

That's awesome!!!

I love that you still have the avatar for SNITCH!

Truly love it!!!

Thanks!

I can't wait to see SNITCH come into being, and it will be a great thing when it happens.

I would venture to guess that it will be preceded by several other new releases on our part.

I know that is frustrating to hear, but you will love them (the other releases) which I hope will ease the bitterness of that news.

Thanks a lot for your continued interest and patience.

See ya buddy!!!

Thanks for this remarkably euphemistic reply, Karl!

What you're basically saying is that another Snitch Kickstarter is very unlikely to happen, right?

That's too bad

However, good luck with your other releases!

Heck no!

That's not what I'm sayin'!!!

Just saying that it is not the next thing in our Q.

SNITCH will rise again!

And it will happen on Kickstarter.

I stand behind both of those statements.
