Game Length: Ten Turns

Only Rex faction and karama powers are used unless otherwise stated.

Two player alliances only.

Spice bribes ARE allowed – the spice goes on the player dot and is collected in the collection round.

Deals between players are binding unless the terms of the deal specifically state they are not binding.

All game communications between players must be held on the game thread.
No private communications allowed.

Players can track game play with player aids.

Order of Play.

1. Spice Blow
2. Bidding
3. Revival/Movement Round
4. Battle
5. Collection
6. Storm

Bidding Phase

All action taken in counterclockwise order.
Emperor (Lazax) may give spice to ally at any time.
Treachery deck (strategy deck) reshuffled if a card is not bid on.

Revival.

Up to five units and one leader may be revived per turn.

Movement Round.

Is performed one player at a time in storm order in the following sequence:

1. Movement – move one token group. All tokens may move 2 territories.
Fremen and the player occupying each city during the spice blow round may move their token group 3 territories. You cannot move into the storm.

2. Shipment – costs 1 spice into any unoccupied stronghold, unoccupied
rock, or Polar Sink territory. Costs 2 spice into a desert or occupied territory. You cannot ship into the storm.

You cannot enter a territory occupied by your ally. Otherwise, there is no restriction to occupancy. (ie, any number of players can occupy a stronghold).

Battle Round.

Battles will follow Dune format of plans being revealed and resolved in their entirety in one step, (ie, resolving battles step 4, ‘reveal battle dials’ will not occur).

Collection

All players except Guild/Hacan collect 2 spice per collection round (CHOAM income). Players collect any spice on their player dot (bribes). Players with tokens in territories containing spice harvest at a rate of 2 spice per token, or 3 spice per token if you control a city.

Treachery Deck

Consists of the following 42 Cards –

Baliset (Worthless)
Chaumas (Poison Weapon)
Chaumurky (Poison Weapon)
Cheap Hero
Cone of Silence (Diplomatic Interference)
Crysknife (Projectile Weapon)
Double Agent x2
Ellaca Drug (Poison Weapon)
Family Atomics (Graviton Negator)
Ghola (Recruits)
Gom Jabbar x 2 (Poison Weapon)
Hajr (Rapid Mobilization)
Harvester (Field Operative)
Karama x3(Informant)
)Kulon (Worthless)
Lasegun (Hylar Cannon)
Maula Pistol (Projectile Weapon)
Mercenary
Shield x 5
Slip Tip (Projectile Weapon)
Snooper x 5 (Poison Defence)
Stunner x2 (Projectile Weapon)
Tactical Retreat
Thumper/Tracking Beacon
Trip to Gamont
Truthtrance x 2
Weather Control
Covert Communications (1)

Harvester – during the spice blow round, double one spice blow or move one spice blow to another territory.

Cone of Silence/Diplomatic Interference – This card may only block a player once per game from making an alliance, and not during turns 9-10.
A player may be prevented from bidding on cards more than once, but no player can be blocked twice in a row.

Thumper/Tracking Beacon – May be played anytime. The player playing this card states which desert territory they want the thumper to draw the worm to.

Worthless – No effect. Must be played in battle to discard.

Truthtrance – May not be played to ask on future intentions. . Atreides(only) may use Truthrance in the future tense.
Covert Communications – you may communicate privately with all players for the rest of the turn.

Faction Rules.

Lazax (Emperor)

When you play a karama to purchase a treachery card, you do not pay spice to the Emperor or to the spice bank. The karama play is the payment in full.

Emperor’s stars may not be cancelled by karama, but when fighting the Fremen the Emperor’s starred tokens only count at one each.

Fremen/Sol

Residual: The Fremen player (and ally) wins the game if Fremen controls Sietch Tabr and Habbanya at the end of turn 10.

Movement: The Fremen deployment is within 2 spaces of the Great Flat and may not be cancelled by karama. BG/Xxcha cannot accompany a Fremen shipment made via the Great Flat. The Fremen may use Guild shipment for deployment if allied to the Guild/Hacan, and the BG/Xxcha can accompany.
The Fremen can move 3 spaces per turn.

Atreides/Jol-Nar

A karama used to cancel Atreides ability to look at the cards applies for all the cards in the bidding round, not just one card.

BG/Xxcha

A karama played to prevent the BG/Xxcha from flipping units face up or face down in the battle round applies to one territory only.

BG/Xxcha can ship one token to the Polar Sink anytime another player ships.

The BG may command a player to “play” a card in battle, meaning that if they have that card, they must play it in their battle plan.

The BG/Xxcha MAY NOT predict either the Fremen or Guild residual victories. Sorry ladies.

Guild/Hacan

The Guild leader Esmar Tuek is value ‘4’.

The Guild/Hacan receives as payment for shipping a maximum of one spice per token shipped from the other players. In cases where a player is paying 2 spice per token, the second spice per token is paid to the spice bank.

The Guild pays 1 spice per token for shipment to any territory on Dune.
The Guild does not received CHOAM charity each turn.

If multiple factions give automated instructions, what order would they be executed in?

Instructions are executed in storm order (player order) if this is necessary.

BG. Even though my blood is linked to yours I've had dreams that divide my heart. Do you have specific requests about my visions?

In the meantime the house Atreides bids 2 on the current card.

Emperor has not yet checked in.

Atreides uses his priority to take over top bid of '2' from BG.

Card 1 is locked between Atreides, BG and Guild. BG and Guild - bid higher or pass?

Card 2 is up for bid now. I won't check the thread tomorrow, so the auction for card 2 will carry into Monday.

Atreides - do not open the email giving the identity of card 2 until the bidding of card 1 is completed.

BG and Guild - you can bid on card 2 even as card 1 continues provided you have the spice to cover your bids.

Harkonnen, Emperor, Fremen - you can bid on card 2 but not card 1, which is locked between the three players that bid on the card in it's 24 hour bidding period.

Gosh...
Fri. 2:43 pm
distribution of player-dots, not yet all traitors drawn, storm-phase, spiceblow, opening of auction - all at once.

Sat. 2:16 pm
First card locked between 3 players. 3 players, who probably haven't yet thought, that game is already in this phase and haven't posted yet, are excluded.
I will file a complaint towards the lansraad that this was absolutly illegal and that houses that were discriminated will get a major compensation.

To be honest, didn't want to have this worthless card anyway... but would be happy, if the beginning of an auction would be announced earlier.
Harkonnen bid 4 on card#2

Edit: bolded the relevant data.

No. OTOH, it's Rex, so all factions can move 2 territories on foot.

Guild is current high bid on card 1 at 3. BG and Atreides - bid 4 or pass?

Harkonnen is current high bid on card 2 at 4 spice.

Card 2's bidding shall remain open until after card 1 ends.

There are two points of action for Emperor right now. First, I sent you your four traitor cards. Send me offline your pick of which one is going to be your traitor. Second, you can bid on card 2 if you want to. Bidding is at 4 so you'd have to bid 5. (Bidding is done in no particular order in this format).

Card 2 is Harkonnen at 4 spice. I'll give Atreides 12 hours to bid, otherwise done.

Harkonnen say:
How can you give those desert dwellers those valuable goods? They will waste them in the sands!

Proposal to Emperor:
If you give me 1 spice, I will bid 4 and outbid them a second time.

info for Glenn: I know, I will have the spice just at the end of this turn. If Emperor agrees, Harkonnen will bid 4.

Harky Harky why the fussing and the fighting? Has the sun gotten to you already? Take a snifter of the ssssspice and relax....

I'm not looking for
Hand outs, charity
Welfare, don't need
Stealing, dealing
Not my feeling
No back stabbing
Greedy grabbing
Lying cheating
'Cause I've got a deeper love

Emperor, if you would like to throw around some spice then why not throw it in the direction of a faction which won't be going for a solo win in the next turn or two.... we of the sisterhood would be more than willing to consider an agreement to enter into an alliance at the next nexus...
