Especially no more Libtards from the faded and wilted British Empire. Last thing a thriving, forward-looking planet full of excited people needs is a bunch of people in plaid kilts becoming increasingly irrelevant while shouting at people who pass them by.

That would be you Eddy.

OK, I'll play, but I hove poor impulse control, so there is more than one thing. They are roughly in order of importance to me, though.

1) The ability to disagree w/ respect and make meaningful compromise. No more demonizing everybody who disagrees with you.

2) Integrity. Be good no matter who is watching or what the consequences are. Be genuine.

3) Parenting. Pass the above two things on to your children. Also, the ability to cook, clean, mend, repair, work hard, work smart, be a spouse, be patient, get along, and parent the next generation.

I think returning to inexpensive higher education as we had previously would maximize our nation's human capital. And lower education costs would flow thru the rest of the system.

A person who has a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or doctorate who doesn't have heavy debt can afford to accept lower pay or charge lower prices. In a capitalist society with competition- having the option means some would do so to gain market share. When you have a heavy debt, you don't even have the choice to charge lower prices/work for lower salary.

I would not subsidize expensive private schools. They are in a different category. Really for second generation whose parents help pay or genius level candidates who are funded by scholarships.

I think an inexpensive good (no premium) quality education for all citizens capable of learning is a basic foundation from which everything else flows.

Secondarily to that choice, I'd instantly square up wages around the world so we were competing on an even footing instead of suffering another 40 years of slow frog in a pot boiling to death while the wages even out. Wages are rising rapidly but the starting base is so low.

Tertiarily to that, I'd make it so you could buy products anywhere legally and import them. If a pill sells for 10 cents somewhere, we shouldn't be paying $4.50 for it. The only differential should be shipping costs.

As you have none yourself, how would you do that?

To the OP:

If I could magically change one thing about society, I'd make people fundamentally rational beings so that I could be a pacifist.
