It's something I've been wondering since I first joined this site. Am I missing a great game due to some subconscious homophobia here? Someone please inform me!

Something I've always wondered is whether or not Hot Games tend to stay hot just because they get clicked on... because they're hot games.

Aldie's secret formula for determining Hot Games is kept under tight wraps. I've heard speculation that it's related to internet click rates.

I have that same feeling. I think it's based on clicks.

And who is not automatically interested by Gay Monopoly?

Really. I'd click on it right now if my Hot Games section wasn't blank.

I bet Gay Monopoly gets a lot more click traffic than say, Puerto Rico, just from google searches, or whatever. Hot Games isn't just based on registered users, right?

heh heh heh BEFORE I ever 'clicked' upon THIS and read over it ALL, then I'd 'posted' THAT "game" upon a "List" here:

You often see unusual titles on the hot pages because they are outside linked. For example some online columnist does an article on word games and mentions Scrabble. Often in articles like that items/people/places are outside link to things like articles on Wikipedia about the word. I've seen several times in the past where that's happened with a link to the BGG page for a game mentioned in an article resulting suddenly in that game climbing the Hot Games list. Likely an exterior link on a popular website somewhere links to the Gay Monopoly BGG page.

Given the recent prices for it on eBay, I'm surprised they didn't release a Gay BattleLore.shake

Come to thinks of it, this would make for a great gay game thread like:

Gay Marvel Heroes
Gay Formidable Foes
Gay Space Dealer
Gay Shadows over Camelot: The Company of Knights
Gay Stephenson's Rocket
Gay Puerto Rico
Gay Bang!
Gay NUTS!
Gay Samurai and Gay Shogun
Gay Settlers of Catan
Gay Battle of the Bulge
Gay Adventures of Sir Lancelot
Gay Adventures in Toothland
...and the list could go on and on given the games here.

STOP I can't take anymore, I've got to go create a geeklistdevil

EDIT: http://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/18344 doesn't exist anymore. BGG moderator didn't think it was funny and deleted it. soblue

Well if my kids turn out to like Monopoly I'll respect their choice and still love them as much as I do now.

As long as they are happy then it doesn't really matter if they turn out to be "roll-and-movers", I'll still be proud of them...

Well, if there is one version of Monopoly that is hot, it's gotta be Gay.

I think it does a great disservice to gay BGGers to assume that they would want to play Monopoly, even if it is rethemed to suit their preferences.
