What wargame or wargames have you just obtained? Please post your wargames that are newly in-hand.

That is...

HOLD OFF UNTIL THEY ARE PHYSICALLY IN YOUR POSSESSION.

What did you buy at GenCon or WBC's?

I did my best to try and find how to translate this, and nothing.

The Internet is telling me that tovaritch is probably Russian, but it wants me to drop the second t, and ya johl is coming up as probably Swahili, but still cannot translate it.

Cuba: The Splendid Little War

La Bérézina 1812

Bought the French edition as it is easier to obtain in the UK. Found English translations of the series and Berezina-specific rules. Only translations of the scenarios aren't available on the internet (I think). Il est heureux que je parle un peu de Français.

This arrived not more than 30 minutes ago:

I'm looking forward to getting this on the table - probably in the next week or two. Lots of reading to do first!

I had this waiting for me after a long day of work.

Sadly, my map is peeling in the corners like a bunch of others. Hope to get a replacement after I email GMT.

For now, I must study the rulebook and put my brain to work figuring out this classic!

Package came from the USPS on Saturday morning that I had to sign for--oh, it's from France! Look what we have here:

Been waiting on this one. So few titles that start with OPERATION BAGRATION and carry through to the end--neither Red Storm over the Reich nor the new edition of The Mighty Endeavor do this. Gorgeous production and I can't wait to get it on the table!

I was on the fence on this one--how many Waterloo games does one need. Glad I took the plunge as the designer asked the same question in the first few sentences of his notes. Focus is on larger command issues in this battalion/regimental scale game and this might be a real winner! Gorgeously produced, as you might expect--all the counters come already rounded!

After many years of not playing CDGs, I was talked into playing For The People a couple of months ago - loved it so I purchased Paths of Glory in July - loved it also. So, I had to have Empire of the Sun - read the rules and for me this might be the ultimate brain buster!

@ CArl ... Only after a decade we start to realise that Card play adds an extra dimension to wargames and Consims in terms of theme and general directions.

I think it is marvellous for strategic and story telling campaigns and a bit less for tactical game play as small arms actions are not really about extra "theme" as such.

But Butterfield showed you can have perfect wargames without dice and only using cards, while perhaps one of the most tactical wargames ever made, Up Front, ... only uses cards for everything (from terrain to rng to fire power).
