With 6 players on Age of Steam, most players suggested the South Africa map. In the past, we had some nice experience with this number of players on this map. The new rules are very simple but it is usually very challenging even if there is some bonus in linking some cities. The 6 players were; Francois, Sophie, Marc-André, Pierre-Luc, Mario and Michel.
It is the first time we had a setup like this in which 4 players started in the central southern part of the map. Sounds like this would be an interesting game. Indeed the game became exciting when many players had to struggle to avoid being blocked on the coast. Mario was able to build ahead of the other and connect Pretoria. Pierre-Luc was on the verge of connecting this same city but Mario in a spectacular move builded a ''S'' first ahead of Pierre-Luc to deny him in connecting Pretoria and at the same time Mario didn't connect a town of Pierre-Luc. So, Mario secured his shippings because the other player couldn,t even stole his important good on Pretoria. That's a move we will not forget for a long time. Marc-Andre decided to go for a low share strategy and he had a small network but it was very efficient. It was enough for him to take the lead and win the game. Special mention to Michel who finished on second place not far from Marc-André.
Everyone had fun on this map. Interaction was great and it was very tense until the end. Mario's ''S'' move was spectacular and Marc-Andre was quite proud of his ''novice''. At least another player was beginning to learn some of his tricks
