I have no issue with the Token Flip mechanics. Sounds very cool!! Dice are very cool too. IMO, neither is better than the other, just different. I think people need to keep an open mind about gameplay mechanics.

Do you really think we needed a third thread with Token Flip in the title? We've already had Token flip = No sale. and Token flip = sale! within the last week, not to mention the other threads where it has been discussed. Even if there were some point to having another, now that there's a dedicated Runebound (Third Edition) entry with its own forums that would be the place for it.

The Pillars of the Earth: Builders Duel had it quite a while ago, and before that, there were a lot of classic games that used it- Patolli, Pachisi, and probably Senet.

Yeah it's Builder's Duel that tells me how much I hate the mechanic. Fiddly. Slow. Regular delays whilst you fish coins out from under the table.
