Hi Everyone,

This Saturday night, at WBC in Lancaster, PA, will be the first annual War Stories World Championships!

We have created four NEW scenarios for this event. Two are from the Red Storm game components and two are from the Liberty Road game components. It will be a modified Swiss format, where each participant will play four games and thus experience each scenario once.

Consistent with our existing scenarios, each side will secretly have achievements they will receive points for if they complete them during the game. While you should pursue those objectives with vigor your ultimate place in the tournament will not just be how you did in an absolute sense in your scenario: it will be modified by how EVERYONE playing your same side in your same scenario did. So, for example, if a scenario is badly unbalanced, even in losing you may score well in the overall tournament if your performance is better than the other people who lost with your side. The important factors are: how many points did each side score (thus what is scored by each side as well as the difference between the two are both important) as well as how many turns the scenario finished in.

These scenarios look to be really fun and cover some of the more famous and exhilerating moments of the war. We will be releasing them to the general public but slowly and over time. So, if you want to not only have a chance to be the World Champion in the game but also get the first play of these new scenarios then please sign up!

We will be using the 1.1 version of the rules, posted here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/i91mpmpfjxh72ij/War%20Stories%20Se...

Look forward to seeing you there!

Modified Swiss is a great format. I ran an online Combat Commander: Europe tournament that went through all of the scenarios in the original set. Because of the scoring format, it was always worth it to fight on to the very last move, scrabbling for just one more victory point ...
