"Are in a dogfight, or were in a combat that turn"

This rule should probably state "were in a combat the PREVIOUS turn"

Tally Phase occurs at the beginning of a turn. While "in a dogfight" definitely applies as the dogfight carries over to next turn. No flight would ever be in combat that turn before the Tally phase.

No, the rule is correct. The only time you apply the radio clutter rule in the Tally Phase is if a squadron on the radio net is marked with a dogfight marker.

Now there's a rare post combo - two of the current top designers in the air world with back-to-back posts on an air game related thread.

Reading through Wing Leader to try and get prepped for the intro scenario. There's no intro to game play video yet

Yup, a rare sighting!

Terry, the "were in combat that turn" clause seems to apply only to item (3) on page 22, which says:
Quote:

(3) Administration Phase.
To change a vector requires a die roll of 6 rather than a roll based on the GCI rating [9.2.4]

Having played hundred of flight sim hours with experienced online pilots and trying to point them at/warn them about oncoming contacts with TeamSpeak while sitting at the map screen and watching the "radar"... this rule is so true/real it hurts. Or being in the fight, seeing new cons entering the combat and you trying to point them out to squadron mates... really tough.

People get really excited/target focused when they're engaged.

And the chatter! Shut UP people!
