All,

Is upkeep still considered eating (in regards to cards stating something happens when you feed)?

Thx

Taking food from the watering hole or the food bank is considered feeding, no matter where the food ends up (e.g. feeding population, as upkeep, or on fat tissue).

Yep.

In real life, the food that turns into the energy for a birds wings is still eaten in the normal way. It's just that having wings required a tremendous amount of energy. That's why birds eat so much food compared to their body size.
