In a competitive game can you escape to a zero resistance location containing an enemy Alien?

You wouldn't in a wargame and I'm playing you can't here either because there is resistance present even though technically the rules say you can retreat to a zero resistance location and they don't say anything about other saucers being there.

It's actually important in a competitive game because it introduces a positioning element

Page 9 of the rulebook offers this regarding Enemies at a Location:
"If you have one or more Aliens at a Location (or Landing Site) with one or more Restistance Counters or enemy Aliens, you must resolve a Battle at the Location as well."

You cannot escape a Battle to a location with Resistance because doing so would cause an immediate ensuing Battle. By logical extension the presence of an enemy Alien would create the same condition, so you would not be able to escape to such a Location.
