Apologies if this has been linked to before ... but Brilliant Maps had this article about games "you've probably never played". Except obviously, many of us on BGG have played them... but still interesting.

I've played 12.

To call Carcassonne a map based board game is a bit of a stretch.

Only 24 played here. But no interest in the other 4.

A bit odd that the author would list, Steam, Age of Steam, and Railways of the World, without mentioning that they're all based on the same system.

I've technically only played...I think it was 4. But about 4-5 more are sitting in my Wishlist. So that number will grow, to say nothing of possible random plays of others in the coming years (I'm only about a year old in the hobby).

Ten here. Kinda disappointed that there's not a single "real" wargame on the list, though not surprised.

As for "best?" I'd have to add games like Hansa Teutonica, Dominant Species, and China in favor of a few on this list. But, it's all subjective, right? Right.

Still, no wargames? Meh.

10. Three more I want to play (and own), don't want to play TI3, most of the rest I would consider but they aren't on my list of "must play." Railways of the World is one I would like to try, though.

I've traded away 4 of the 28.

(Did the author actually read their own article, or was it slapped together just as a vehicle for the "click to buy this on Amazon" links? It starts off saying "you've likely played such classics as Diplomacy ... there's a whole world of games you've been missing out on, until now" ... and then, near the end of the list, there's Diplomacy??)

The best clickbait has deliberately provocative statements, designed to provoke outrage, rebuttals, and most of all - reposts.

Deliberate mistakes do the same job.
