I must agree, I am a huge fan of the XP system as well. It helps drive a bit more of the RPG narrative for me and helps me feel really more tied to a ship or group. It also pushes me to produce more of the same type of ship at once, at least smaller ships so that they level up as a group. Having Legendary DDs - nothing to ignore! zombie I find that groups of x2 and larger hulled ships not as important because they're more likely to take a hit at one point and you'll want to separate that ship from the group: then it's painful when that respective group then levels up without the damaged ship. Sure, can combine later (to lowest XP level) or wait and try and get that other ship leveled back to same as original group but so hard.

Great system though.

It's a nice idea but seems a level of bookkeeping too far for me.

Point taken. I sometimes find it painstaking to keep track of all of my ships' movement values. The biggest complaint I have with SE is the level of bookkeeping involved since it sometimes distracts me from thinking about the in-game decisions.

Could be worse, could have little wooden cubes instead.
