No, not remotely. Blitz! is a complete game based loosely on the WIF system. No relatonship to DOD (apart from the link to WIF).

Correct - there's no link between the two, or system to do so that I'm aware of. DoD3 has its own simplified combat system that uses WiF production, while Blitz has a simplified production schema that doesn't translate (at least that's my understanding).

Yeah, DoDIII has it's own combat and counters and such. But in the older versions one could also play with Wif counters and such but using the DoDIII political options. Is that still the case?

Not sure I understand the question - but if it is, "Can Blitz! and WIF be used together", the answer is No. If the question is, "Can DODIII and WIF still be used together", answer is Yes.
