Hey Fellas,

Which is the "thread" that allows you to post looking to play an opponent on Vassal? I can't seem to find it.

Thanks

If you are on Facebook there is an excellent group there called Vassal Wargamers Americas. I've found a few opponents there and I've always had good games.

I just joined the facebook site. So when you find a player (opponent) how do you contact them? Do you send them a pm invite? Not big on the in's and outs of facebook so kind of new at it.

Thank

Seems to be a combination of direct reply to posts and PMs

In the FB group you can just reply to the post to set up a time.

I sometimes start threads in games' forums on BGG too.

I've not had good luck on the Facebook page. The monthly subscription thread that Lance linked to is the way to go, imho.

I look on Both the BGG lists FB and also on Vassal. I have gotten most opponents off the first link I put up but some from all the other sources. I would get more opponents if I was on the east coast time zone and if my preference was not for small fast simple games. So the more different kinds of games and titles a guy is willing to play the more opponents he will have. And it does seem like there are a lot more players US East Coast and central Time zone.

I don't think there is anything particularly secret about the swearing.

Is there like an ethical code to Vassal? Such as: Don't play games you don't own or what?

I want to try out The Gamers/MMP's Fallschirmjaeger but that game is very hard to find.

Generally speaking, one person should own the game. (Just as with playing face to face, you don't need one copy per person.)
