I've been here since 2007.

For the first time ever, I'm trimming my collection, so I need to take out things of my collection.

Now I realize I have no idea what I am erasing when I click the red cross in my collection. Do I remove the "own" status? Or even the rating and comment?

Also, I take it that the subscription status is completely standalone. Correct?

Everything about that game entry: status, comments, plays--everything.

You might want to just change status to Previously Owned, and go to your collection viewing everything but Previously Owned. (Or for once wish-listed games, "Don't get this".)

Subscription status is separate: Correct.

Whatever you do, don't click on the really big red X on the bottom of the page. It deletes BGG.

Plays are not deleted, they stay

Curiously, the red X doesn't actually erase the record. If you subsequently export your collection, and import it into a spreadsheet, you will find those 'deleted' items still listed. Or at least, that used to happen, it may have changed. I've not had to examine my collection like that for a while.

Yes and no. I dumped about 100 "normal" games and they went all in a week. But the Japanese games didn't. I ended up stuffing them in a box, only to be brought out when I do a "Japan Game Room" on conventions. Might as well sell them, at least parts of it (those that aren't very very specially anime stuff), but the important part is that I don't see them. I have realized that 50 visible games is about what my gaming nerve can take – more than that and I stop having fun with them.

But I can't send them off one by one. It was a "pick up at my place". Selling here on BGG wasn't an option

Let me know if you're heading to Essen with an empty suitcase as I can suggest a way to fill it, replacing it with small bills for the trip home.
