Don't 'weigh' the box to value it either! $45 gets you a cracking game, with a pretty unique feel and flow. It can be cutthroat, with tense decisions, and so rewarding when you manage to pull off a profitable move!

It's definitely one that I'll never get rid of. Great design and very well-implemented.

All those words could have come out of my mouth. +1

Great game, but polarizing effect on everybody I meet. People seem to either really dig it, or really hate it.

Agreed. It's been my experience that a lot of folks that don't like it were often incorrectly taught the game to begin with. It REALLY helps with this sort of game to have some examples explained correctly of what can happen on a given turn.

Maybe it'll cause enough interest to spark a reprint of the expansion?

Well, they are already thinking about a "Big Box Edition":

Totally agree it's a must own for gamers - Troyes is very enjoyable and gives you a lot to think about each turn.

I just wish I had enough gamer friends to have gotten my copy back to the table. After a few years going unplayed I sold it to someone who hopefully had better luck.
modest

Maybe I'll buy in again if a reprint happens though. It's one of very few games I regret parting ways with.

I will never ever part with my copy! We don't play it too often lately, but it's my best game of all time

I'm with you! This is a tragically under-appreciated game.

I ended-up obtaining a copy from Board Game Bliss, for $50, including shipping. It's one that hits my Gaming Table once a month and I've enjoyrd several dozen games over at Board Game Arena (Thanks, Jack!)

Cheers,
Joe

To be more specific, it's in his personal top "the games I would choose if I was forced to limit my collection to a measly ten."

Not his top ten games YOU must have.

grrrr - was hoping it hit the hotness because a reprint was imminent.

Just the "rahdo-effect" at work again though...

For those looking for a copy, the Game Room in Sylvania Ohio has one on the shelf. Look it up as I believe they have online sales.

No sweat, Joe. BGA is one of the best places to "try before you buy". More companies should make use of those sites. BGA certainly doesn't make me not want the physical copy of a game that is on there.

I would not have bought Troyes if I had not played a few games on BGA first. When I played my first game I never dreamed that it might end up being a game that I would buy. Now it is one of my very favourite Euros.

Did you check the link listed above? The publisher IS discussing a reprint, so keep your eyes open.

Yeah, people are trying to dump the game at insane prices due to the impending reprint announcement, which will drop the values by half, at least.

People are selling it for 200+ on some sites. Whatever...

Yes, if all goes well, a reprint is planned for 2016 for the base game and the extension (but no big box). At list in French but they talk about localization so I think that will be in the US and some other countries.

This information comes from the words of Seb Dujardin (Pearl Games boss) in this thread (in french) :
