Just read this article and found it interesting...

"We’ve all been ripped off when paying for wifi. But now, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is cracking down on companies that block you from using anything but their exorbitantly priced services. The agency just slapped a company with a $750,000 fine for blocking wifi hotspots at convention centers."

A basic FCC principle is that disruption of communications is forbidden. That's why products have FCC warnings, which essentially say if the product interferes with anyone's communications, turn it off.

Wifi and cell phone jammers have always been illegal, and will be unless Congress explicitly changes the law.

Faraday cages, being passive, are less clear, but unless you want to wrap your convention center in copper....
