Hello everyone!

We're hard at work on bringing Onitama out through Arcane Wonders and wanted to ask everyone's opinion on some potential boxes. If you can leave a comment here with your opinions and "first choice" of the mock boxes below, we would love to hear from you!

Our goal is to make Onitama a beautiful game that players will be proud to display and that experience begins with the box. The goal is to include a "Scroll" type playing mat, similar to a neoprene playmat, that is classy, along with custom pieces that are unique and really make the game pop.

All that said, here's the options for boxes that we'd love your opinion on.... Thank you in advance!

Please use only enough box to safely and securely hold the components. Nothing more. Game collectors loathe boxes filled with air or over-sized inserts/spacers. Definitely no cylindrical or round boxes!

round what is round? Surely no one would put a game in a round tubular container.

Some discussions with playtesters and fans was to make a box that looked like a saki bottle box or wine bottle box. To be direct, it's on the low end of our list too, but we want to be open to listening to what our consumers are interested in.

The rectangle would definitely provide that... tight packed, and little air space.

I'd like to see a standard sized box that fits on my shelf with all the other standard sized boxes, and doesn't require me to find a special slot/spot to house 1 game.

1) Rectangle (i like the unique look and size, but still able to easily fit on shelves)

2) Square (more traditional, but still small box)

3) Circle (DONT LIKE. Hard to store on shelves, might deter buying for me)

Thanks for the poll! Good luck

LOVE the concept of the round box, it looks great!. However I'm afraid is not very practical.

Hate the round box simply because of the storage problem it would present

Cylinder.

The cylinder looks beautiful but it will end up in with my play mats and I'll only remember I own it when I go to play Netrunner.

1)rectangle: looks pretty nice and unique, but still seems compact enough to fit in the shelf well

2) square: more classic but still looks pretty nice and should fit the shelf well

3) round: don't like it that much, makes me thing more of pringles than wine and seem not very practical to store.

#1 Standard size for stacking with other popular published games. (I have Jactalea games that are long rectangles, as well as a couple of others, so that could work for me, but for most people…? I do have a few cylindrical games, but they don't stack at all — unless you count the ton of nestorgames I have, which stack very well.)
#2 Minimal wasted volume and materials. (It sounds like that's rectangular or cylindrical.)
#3 Personal preference as a tie-breaker: square, then rectangular. Cylindrical would be tolerable for a game as awesome as this sounds.

Mirroring everyone so far, round not really an option for a choice.

Oh Goody! I've been getting tired of seeing endless video's of the original game and talk about the game, and never seeing any teasers of the NEW game or a date for publication. So, thank you for finally giving us a peek behind the curtain.

1) Rectangle - being different is good, but it will still stack.
2) Square - Hard to tell the scale, would it be "standard" game box sizes, or will it be smaller, like the Kosmos two player line? A smaller square box would also work really well.

What?! You don't want our opinion on the box art?! (Looking good!thumbsup)

1) Rectangle

People are talking about puting this game on the shelf. I want to bring it to my friends or to a bar or café to play. The rectangle is much more handy to carry around.
