I'm the guy who had the 14 year old twin daughters who was looking for cheaper, fun games for them.

You recommended Love Letter - They love it
One Night - Ultimate Werewolf - The like it a lot
Red Dragon Inn - not played yet, but they want to

Looking for 2 more games that might fit alongside these games.....

Note these games really need a lot of players to be good. Resistance and Avalon really need a minimum of 5 players.

A game that involves a twist on bluffing and hidden roles that might find fun is Gunrunners. It can work with as few as 2 players.

Dixit
Sushi Go!
Forbidden Island
Splendor

And I'd recommend (as others have said in your first post) to give Carcassonne another shot. My girlfriend had trouble with the scoring at first, too, so we played without the farmers (the trickiest part to grasp) for a while until she got the hang of it and now it's one of her favorite games.

Do the farmer's area of control wrap around the lake at the start of the river expansion? I am never sure!

Yes, I believe so. But if you have The River II expansion instead, I think they added a road to the top which effectively cuts off the farmland into two areas.

Sushi Go!'s a fun game for under $20. Takenoko is more expensive but if you can find it for a good price is very teen friendly.

+1 for Hanabi, although it is better with 3 or more players.

Also if they're into making up stories have you tried Gloom?

Welcome to the Dungeon bluffing/push your luck style game. Kind of like a game of chicken.

Hey, That's My Fish! simple and kid friendly in appearance, but can be played quite aggressively.

+1 Dixit
+1 Forbidden Island
+1 Sushi Go!
+1 Takenoko
Forbidden Desert (the a-bit-more-complicated followup to Forbidden Island)

As mentioned, Takenoko is more expensive. Dixit is better with more people.

My daughter and her friends are a bit older, but they really enjoy all of those.

For consideration some other time, here are some more expensive (and a bit more complicated) cooperative games my daughter and her friends also like a lot:

Escape: The Curse of the Temple or Escape: Zombie City. Pick the theme you think they'd like better. I consider the zombie version to be a bit smoother.

Pandemic and/or Pandemic: The Cure (the dice version).

Yggdrasil (especially if they are interested in Norse Mythology).

This poster nailed it. I agree with all these recommendations for that age.

That is a good recommendation for a cheap fun game (thought nothing like the other games the OP mentions). If they're not bothered by the "kid friendly in appearance" then it could go down well. It's more strategic with two players than with 3-4.

Robin - The deduction comes from trying to figure out who is aiming for which set to collect. It's not the central gameplay but you do want to make the trades harder on your opponents.
Clue Suspect - This is essentially Clue(do) without the boring moving and dice rolling.
Hanabi
Bohnanza - No deduction but also high on interaction
Citadels

I was going to suggest Escape!: The Curse of the Temple, but David and Jim beat me to it. I break people in a lot with King Of Tokyo as well.

+1 Sushi Go

Not sure if it was already mentioned in the previous thread, but my kids love Zombie Dice and Diamonsters. Both games are $10 or less and are quick to pick up and play.
