My wife and I just played the Siege of Darkness adventure last night. We weren't sure how Yvonnel's attack should work with regards to the normal rule about cancelling encounter cards with experience.

We ruled that we always had to draw a card when she used Lolth's Fury, since it was a special attack. That basically made the experience for killing monsters wothless (unless we happened to be able to level up from rolling a 20).

What do you think? Should we be able to spend 5 experience to cancel her attack? That would have made it much easier (we lost, using Breunor and Regis).

in my opinion the 5xp rule is always valid when you must draw an encounter, no matter the reason that forced you to draw one.
