So I grabbed the first edition for 5 bucks from the thrift store. However, reading the 2e rules, I much prefer those. So I was wondering, how close can I get to a full 2e game. Obviously I'm missing the central board, blue diamond chips, and casino cards, which I could get by buying the Light and Dark expansion.

Can the Panda Lords be substituted for Panda Champions? Did they all get reworked? Obviously Mari-Dori doesn't work anymore because it has to do with the Colors = Abilities thing that was only in first edition. What about the others?

EDIT: I found a picture of both. Most of the cards stayed similar in theme, but the wording an the exact way they are carried out are WAY different between 1e and 2e. So we'll either need to proxy or cheatsheet or something.

Wowow, that is quite the deal. You got the deluxe version for that price?

You should be able to play v2 rules with a v1 set pretty easily. Floosh and Full House switched spots (so full house is the better hand then floosh now). You will just have to remember this I guess?

You will also need some token to represent the Panda Coin and preferably two different tokens for each player that they can use for challenge/no challenge.

You are correct that you can't you the Panda Lords for the Panda Champions.

I think it was the cheapest version? The one that just has the cards, rules, and player boards.

Not sure how it ended up at the thrift store with the cards new in shrink.
