Hi all,

Was wondering if a playing time of 30 minutes for this game is really possible. I'm new to the game with a friend, but we need like 90 minutes to play the game.

It can pretty wildly change. Sorta like chess.

If your playing regularly to a point where you've only got a summoner and a unit... Something is amiss.

The faction can also make a huge difference - vanguard for a long game - cave goblins for a short one.

The game clocks under one hour. In tournaments, each player gets 25 minutes. So, the game lasts at most 50 minutes, by definition. That's why I prefer to play factions/summoners that I know so I don't have to read each card. The familiarity with the at style speeds things up as well.

30 minutes is rare.
But 40-50 minute is standard.
Longer than that is completly possible, sometimes my games last around 80-90 minutes.

Our average is 40-45 minutes, with longer ones going for a hour and, indeed, fast ones around the half a hour mark.

Seems odd that there is no poll for playing time on a game's front page. That would be very useful information.

I find 45 mins with experienced casual play is about right.

I'd say 45-50 minutes is our average playtime.

My average is probably more than 90 minutes, so don't feel too bad.

I've played SW more than 50 times, and most of the games last about 45 minutes.
It also depends on your opponent: my brother is prone to AP, so when I play with him, games can take 60-90 minutes, but when I play with others, games tend to take 45 minutes. Almost never had a game end in just 30 minutes, but it also depends on playing style and whether you can make a sneaky move...

Yeah I'd agree I'd give games 90 minutes in the beginning and after both players have played more than dozen times then it can get down to 30-45 minutes.

Games can end in the first few turns early if someone is very good or very lucky against a new player, esp with certain set ups.

A big part of this game is knowing your summoner (and deck) and your opponents summoner (and deck), so familiarity with the game will speed it up quite a bit just like in LCG/CCGs. Things just run much faster when you know all the event cards and abilities that are likely to show up in a given game.

Also, being less shy about building magic will deplete the deck more quickly speeding things up.
