I don't understand how this die is supposed to work. For instance, using the Monster Selection Grid and a regular d12, during wave 1 there is 5 in 12 chance of getting level 1 monster, a 3 in 12 chance of getting a level 2 monster, and a 4 in 12 chance of getting a level 3 monster. Using the Specialty d12 wave die (and presumably not needing the Monster Selection Grid) how do you get these same odds?

I think it is meant to work with the wave guide cards that are bundled in with the expansion reinforcement cards. At least that is what it appears to me.

Ralph, you need the Monster Selection deck-sized cards. You'll use 1 of the 4 sides per game, depending on the # of players. It converts the #s to match the odds without the need to lookup the rolls and results on the chart each time. Takes a couple seconds to get the hang of, but then it speeds up monsters selection by about +30-50%! : )

How do we determine the odd/even? Are we supposed to roll another die to go with it?

Use normal Odd/Even on the base # you roll; count "!" as Odd.

1,3,3,3,5,! = Odd
2,2,2,4,4,4, = Even
