The Hall of Fame

Phase 1. September 1-6.
I give to every player: 1 field with 25 code names, the key for them and 3 spare names.
Player writes 7 clues total about red and blue team agents and sent them (task) to me.
Player can change up to 3 code names, using his spare names.

Example of task:
_BLUE:_ food 3, Earth 2, human 4
_RED:_ weather 3, trip 2, war 2, animal 2
Changes: tale - China, coffee - wing, cover - wave.

Phase 2. September 7-13.
I publish all tasks here. Every player solves all tasks of other players and write solutions to me.

Phase 3. September 14.
I write results of championship.
Players have points:
+1 for each true agent from other player's task,
-3 for assassin from other player's task,
+1 for each agent from your task, if 1 or more other players fond him,
-3 for assassin from your task, if 3 or more other players met him.
Champion is player with most points.

Everyone has 9 blue and 8 red agents. Blue team is the first player. I'll publish your task in that order:
BLUE - clue1, ...
RED - clue1, ...

It's complex quiz, that is solving as whole one, simultaneously with both teams, without their turn order.

Ben and Craig must think about things in very similar ways. Their clues are nearly identical...

Re: Codenames PBF #17 - 2nd Personal Championship
So once everyone turns in their guesses the best possible score would be 102.

17 total points are possible for each opponents grid and for each opponent that guesses on your grid. We each guess on 3 other grids an our grid gets guessed upon 3x.

17x6=102

I don't think I did that well. It would be nice to get to 80+. We shall see.

No, every your own word is counted only once (no depending how many players fond it). Max. score = 17x4=68 (51 for opponent words + 17 for yours).

So you only have to get one person to guess your clues for them to count. Interesting.

Well, I am screwed. I felt good about my clues and not my guesses.

If you can only get a one point for each of your own clues and you need just one person to guess correctly to get the point then the best clue is one that will be tricky and trip up most the players as log as one player gets it. That creates some weird incentives.

I also will write results with different scoring. But in that case player own result strongly depends on his good (easy) words...

And in 3rd tournament player will score 3 points only if not all players fond his clue.

Trying different scoring mechanisms makes a lot to of sense and should be fun for this kind of event.

Well done Craig!!!

I was happy with my clues and felt very unsure about my guesses and that certainly came through in the score. :/

This was a fun take on the game. I didn't expect to do nearly as well as I did. modest

My favorite clue was Annemarie's "Solo 3".

Now I realize that it was Smuggler (trade threw me off on that one). What were the other 2 for that?
