I wanted to share my efforts to create and/or collect painted 3D components for all the characters, monsters, generals, buildings, chests and generic tokens in this game.

Overview:

Monsters: (Dragonkin, Demons, Orcs, Undead)

General's Health Tracker Tokens and War Status Token

Corruption Tokens

Treasure Chest Tokens

Teleportation Gates

Generals

Monarch City

The 3 Inns

Player Characters

I've got all the hero packs and the painted miniatures for each, but that there is some serious pimpage. Nice work.

Thanks all!

Those inns come from the 12 Realms building pack .... an inn, a temple, and a stable in a pack together, unpainted ...when I bought the packs they were about $8 each

Many of the figures come from Dreamblade conversions.

Like for example the Eagle Rider.

Knepper has a cool painted eagle in his set, but its rather large, so that got me thinking about what I could use that would be the right size...

I took this figure from Dreamblade - Bloodhawk Barag

and cut the top half of the rider off ... then, since I own a set of the original unpainted heroes as well as the painted heroes, I took the top half and cut it off of the unpainted Eagle Rider and glued/pinned it to the legs/bottom half of the Bloodhawk rider .... then I painted the Bloodhawk to look like an eagle and the composite rider to the same color scheme as the painted Eagle Rider.

I used a Dremel and a hot knife to carve down the Dreamblade base into something circular and mounted it on another 25mm base and painted the base sky blue ... et viola!

That was one of the hardest conversions. The Monarch City piece was another Dreamblade figure (Pearlthorne Castle). That took a bit of cutting and painting as well. If you have ever tried to re-base Dreamblade figures, you will know that they are made of a cross between plastic and adamantium. It took me years but I finally found a combination of cutting tools to do the job quickly and mostly painlessly.

Thanks Knepper for the inspiration on the Eagle!

That should work much better. What was that first one from ... Warhammer Fantasy Battles Elf Army?

Yes, and it was a very olde figure.

Like your interpretation of the Shaman as a Bear.

Thanks. The Bear and the Wolf forms were fairly easy. Both DnD figures, so I just needed to repaint them and rebase them using spare bases cut from a couple of the unpainted DotR heroes to match the size/shape.

I noticed the hero cards have the locations of the board, so you could do even MORE pimping by replacing the board entirely. Make some arbitrary generic fantasy background, photocopy the locations from the hero cards, and pimp away. You've already seen the the homemade Arkham Horror board, right?

When you get the Dragon (Generals) expansion, you can add some fire markers:
