For a long time we missed the rule explaining the "any in play" distinction, but recently realised we missed it. It seemed to have very little effect with the base game and snow white, but the Bad Wolf cards in LRRH have now become really underwhelming.

They are so under powered, I'm wondering if they should state "females in play" instead of just "females"?
My group will probably start playing it this way ourselves, but I was curious if there was an official line on this.

Hi there,
we're happy to know you played Dark Tales more than once ;-)

From the rules of Little Red Riding Hood:
Quote:
Bad Wolf:
The Bad Wolf “eats” up to two Females in play
(you can choose one or none).

Hope this can help, please do no hesitate to ask for more questions

Actually, it's one of my groups most played games.

Thanks for the clarification!
