HAMTAG is back with Judd, Greg and Bart's top 5 WW2 East Front war-games.

Greg brought his Hawaiian shirt and Judd brings his love for the Herman. Bart's just the dude in the middle who things Memoir 44 is a war game.

The video has been submitted to BGG pending MOD approval but here is a direct link for those that can't wait.

HAMTAG is now on Bart's YouTube Channel 'Bonding With Board Game'

If you get a chance and enjoy scotch or just watching the Chief make a fool of himself while still giving a serious scotch review check out 'Scotch Test Dummies' also on youtube.

FYI, the Russian phrase I utter translates to "none of your damned business!"

And the ultimate east front game is still out there...the day somebody (Racier?) takes the Great One's system from France 1944 and applies it to the eastern front, it will be pure bliss.

I'd like to see Frank Chadwick's Road to the Rhine system applied to an East Front game. That would be fantastic!

This is a great move by the way.

Until now, in order to hear about new HAMTAG videos, it's been easiest just to keep my ear to the ground here on the wargame forums. Whenever I google or search on youtube, I mostly get general Dicetower videos and your older videos.

It was mentioned, along with the other East Front OCS games. Just didn't make my top 5, for the reason I mentioned - length of the campaign scenarios.

I don't know what you have to say, it makes no difference anyway: whatever it is, I'm against it!

Too short, I agree. Not to mention it doesn't include Leningrad. I refuse to play it, as well, until the scope is more comprehensive.

Not only that, but you think it's a better east front game than EastFront!?

Great to hear. There will be some other video segments on my channel as well but I'll never be able to match the content of the Dice Tower.

An operational level East Front game just isn't an operational level East Front without lasting as long as the war itself.

Some additional thoughts:

1) Kudos to having the guts to select The Hell of Stalingrad. Such a blast of a system for a couple of fast and furious drops in a single evening, yet gets so much hate from the haters. Any game that lets me execute my troops for a morale bonus is a winner in my leadership book.

2) Nice to see Fighting Formations: Grossdeutschland Motorized Infantry Division as well, another one with its share of lovers/haters. I think it is a challenging and innovative system that works very well, despite what the haters think.

Great show again, guys! I especially agree with the choices of Storm Over Stalingrad and The Russian Campaign, both great games. I also enjoyed the reference to Hitler promoting Von Paulus to "Grand Marshal"! I pictured Von Paulus at the head of a parade going down the Main Street of Stalingrad , waving to crowds of German soldiers while riding atop a Tiger tank float made of roses!

If you every find yourself in Wichita Kansas you have an open invitation for both at the 'Sod' house. We do get a lot of travel in and out of Wichita due to all the aircraft manufacturers we have.

As a matter of fact anyone wishing to scotch and board game has an open invitation. I'll just need to work around my cop schedule...and it's not really a sod house...yet

By the way if anyone has suggestions for a good Top 5 topic please post it hear. We like to work in non war game topics as well so please do let us know what you would like to see. I can't guarantee we will use the topic but if we do we will give you a shout out on air as the topic Mastermind or better yet Grand Marshall. Yep... Definitely Grand Marshall.

As a semi-frustrated wargamer, I'm a big fan of HAMTAG. I always enjoy the banter, the games, and enthusiasm you all bring to the topic. I've picked up several games based on your videos, and I'm yet to be disappointed.

Thanks guys!!

This is a rich topic. Off the top of my head, I can name 3 block games, 3 area-impulse games, one dedicated card driven game, numerous monster games, as well as games on Stalingrad and Kursk. The list just goes on and on...

So what are ya'alls picks?
